Oregon - Part 1

After Shasta, we headed to Oregon. Our first stop was to meet up with my friend Jennifer Kyker at her parents' cabin in Oregon. I'm not sure what town it was in exactly, or if it was in a town, but it was near Klamath Lake, about an hour south of Crater Lake.

The cabin was in a beautiful little spot, surrounded by national forests, so it offered a lot of privacy. We got there around noon and Jennifer took us on a little nature walk through their property and into a national forest. We then played scrabble (Jennifer won, by a lot), drank some Oregon microbrew, contemplated nature, and had some delicious Oregon salmon for dinner.

To spice things up, Jennifer let us sleep in the extra bed in the cabin and she slept in the van, getting the honors of the first visitor to sleep in the "upstairs." We should mention that the cabin had no electricity or running water, so it was a fairly even swap. It's not like we tricked Jennifer into it or anything. Since we woke up before her (at sunrise as usual), we figure that she slept well enough.

We then had a delicious breakfast, complete with homemade huckleberry jam (which we got to keep!) and then headed to Crater Lake, and then on to Redmond, OR to meet up with Pete's cousins Mike and Jen.
