Moab, UT

We arrived in Moab, UT yesterday evening. We camped in a primitive climber's camping spot in Castleton Valley, which is a few miles East of Moab, and just South of the Colorado river.

We did a little climbing early this morning at Castleton Tower (It's the tower in the distance of the photo below).

Even though we got started at 6:45am, we had to quit it early because it was just too hot. We came back into Moab and found a campground with a pool and spent a couple of hours there cooling down. Later in the evening, we went into Arches National Park and, you guessed it, looked at some arches. We were able to scout out a couple of the climbs we will be doing in the park tomorrow. We'll be heading to the La Sal Mountains on Tuesday to get our glacier travel skills honed for Mt. Whitney, which will certainly still have enough snow to be a formidable challenge.

Sorry that this was not as exciting as the last post, but it's just too hot here in Moab to get into any shenanigans.
